A GIFT DRAW ON IECC

This year, I decided to go all out and play universally with corresponence chess (Email, Server, Postal) in Miscellaneous sites; not for the hell of it, but to improve my game.  I am giving IECC a try, and so far for being free, I feel it's awesome.
Ever heard of a Gift Decision in Boxing? When the fight goes all (12) rounds, and the losing boxer wins by a disputed decision?  Well I believe I had a Gift Draw in this game. I just thought this was a funny game, as I was losing; I stupidly gave away a bishop; behind on a Major Piece.  All I was doing was connecting Pawns toward the end to build some kind of wall, and attempting to offer a draw to my opponent; however, after 24...a5, my opponent sent an email with "You want a DRAW?  I just don't know what to move...?!" I am not sure where the game would have went had we played on, but the moment, I knew I lost, I started looking at the Pawn structure, compensation, a major piece, Space etc. I felt like I was losing, so I took the Draw; in someways, I believe my oppnent could have forced a win with me being down a Major Piece. As they always say, never give up, your opponent may get tired and/or not see something.
