Its about time I report how we did this year. Out of 25 team CLMS finished second which could have only been accomplished by a late season serge taking 1st in December and 2nd in January allowing us to leap frog two other strong teams into second.

March 21 County Chess Championships

This year CLMS broke school records for the most students qualifying for the top 16 (those who play for the County Championship out of 180 registered players) including the first middle school girl to make top 16 in 6 years.

Individually CLMS players finished 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 10, 14, 15 and 16.

In the high school division D Cook defended his school title taking 1st again. Not bad for a student who had previously taken 2nd in 7th and 8th grade and as a 9th grader.

Another great year!
