My busy month continued with the next UNC touranment...
The octet section format is always interesting. Sometimes you are on top, sometimes on the bottom. This time, I was one of the top players in my division. In round 1 though, I would lost to a tactic that, 23 years later, is still burned in my memory. The game itself was very tactical and in the end, my attempt to score a back rank mate was met with an interposition...with discovered check. Game 2 featured both me and my opponent blundering our way through a bishop and pawn endgame.
