In my blog articles about openings, you will find a section called My Take.

This section is just my observations after going over games with the topic opening. You will also find a link to the games I used for these observations.

Here is the process I use:

I select 10 games. 5 1-0 games and 5 0-1 games. Each game has at least 50 moves. I try to avoid blitz games. However, it is not always possible to tell if the games were blitz or longer time controls.

I take a piece of paper and make 2 columns; black and white. Then I make 2 rows, 1-0 notes and 0-1 notes.

I go through each game from the perspective of the winner. So, for 1-0 games, I keep the white pieces on my perspective.

During this step, I make some notes for the winning color.

Then, I go through the games again, but I switch the perspective. So if the game was 1-0, I am looking at the game from the black side.

During this step, I make notes mostly for the losing color.

I do both of these steps twice and verify any notes I've made.

PLEASE NOTE!!

Look at my rating. I am not an expert.

These observations are not meant to be thorough or deep and may contain some misunderstandings.

They are only meant to give me, and anyone who is interested, some ideas when going into an opening.

Hopefully, as time goes on, and my understanding improves, I will be able to make appropriate updates to them
