Words of a Complete Beginner

Chess, as all of you know, is a very intricate game played on many different levels. Among others, there are those who play competitively for a living, those who play quite well and participate for the joy of the game, and those who cling to the very bottom of the metaphorical chess totem pole, attempting to climb while still trying to learn the basic fundamentals of the game. I must admit, I fit snugly into this category. However, that does not negate what I am telling you. To be a great teacher, you must first understand the questions of those who are under you, and likewise in the world of chess, you must first understand the mindset of others before you can advance. Having said this, I will try, over a short series of blogs, to give you a brief view of my mindset, and to extension, the way I play chess. [Part One to come]
