Here are annotations of the games I played and annoteted in August-2012.
This is one of my better games. Although I lost, it was to a slightly better player. http://www.chess.com/livechess/game?id=353108057
Lesson learned: practice pawn-rook endgames.
A very close game against a relatively equal opponent. Black is up a pawn but is unable to capatize.
I finally got to play a much higher ranked player. Of course, no surprise that I lost. But, unfortunately, in some ways I beat myself.
I beat a higher ranked player. My had several strategies and kept having to adjust. I planned on Pilsbury's Attack. But, Black accepted the Gambit. Then I tried Fishing Pole and Black derailed my King-side Knight. Then, I just stayed aggressive on King-side and prevailed.
I played a series of Live 30 0 games last night. Three of them with higher ranked @apolierio of the Philipines. In the first game he surprised me with an atypical opening. Thanks to blunders I managed to stay even through the opening and early middle game. But, at the end he outplayed me. This is the game I have annotated below.
I won our second game due to a mortal blunder. My opponent loses his Queen in move 11. I also won the much more exciting third game.
In this third game my opponent plays extremely aggressively in the opening. But, he only develops a Knight and Queen. I manage to survive the attack and develop enough pieces to launch an aggressive counter attack that threatens the Black King and wins a Bishop and Rook. Black resigns. I will annotate this game next. I will also create a puzzle for a unplayed variation with a smothered mate.
But, here is the first game:
Thanks again @learnateverygame. Excellent feedback. Yes, I changed my Live settings to get higher ranked opponents.
I dont really pay much attention to the 2nd one, but the 3rd one, was like the example in silman's last article (blunder gland).
Bh2 was mistake, better was Be3, then your opponent should had played Nxd4, then c5. that knight will be a pain.
then Bxe5??? gives free piece for you (in which you politely decline)
then Bh2 ?? which do not make sense at all, because it nets you a pawn, and after Nd5 coming later, it looks like black is losing atm. Ne4 that the engine found was clearly best.
after Qc8 ? white can just play Bxf6 exf6 and then Nd5, threat is very simple
33. c5 ? just closes down, cxd5 cxd5 Bc5 gives the bishop more life.
then you started winning, with extra piece + the a pawn running
then 46.Ba3 ? Bc5 followed with b4 and a5 later was the move I would choose, suffocating your now-helpless-and-going-to-die-a-gruesome-death opponent.
and then I wonder why after 62. Kb8 you didn't play Kc6 with idea of rook lift to b4, a4 and such ? black was clearly losing before, even after the blunder
final mistake which is the back and forth move, which just gives black a free point after all.
you misplayed the opening early on, I don't know much about KID, but what I know is that Black's K's Bishop is quite important as it guards f6 and h6 etc. Playing 1300s is good, but sometimes they made terrible blunders (why I get good 1300s players if I play them ? ), so play against someone higher, 1500-1600s, they are good players which are around my strength as well, you will learn better here, so try playing few games with them !
Annotated a good game against a slightly higher ranked player. Early in the end game I come ahead in material. But, I blunder and lose advantage.
Here is a Live 10 0 game I played from the dentist's waiting room. I win. My opponent is ranked about 100 points higher.
one useful advice : play someone at least 300 rating above you, it helps ;)
We played seventeen moves before my opponent resigns without explanation. I am up in material by one pawn. Position-wise I have King safety, all four remaining pieces are developed, and at least three are very active. My opponent has not developed the dark Bishop and neigher rook is active.
