Cry Havoc and Loose the War Chickens!!! Team Chess.com Scores big in the World Open
We warned them, but they didn’t tie down their chickens. Reeling from the heavy losses on day 2, Team Chess.com was looking for blood with the same tenacity as an angry Left Shark.
Chess.com’s amateur team, Malicious Matt Kirkwood and the effervescent Yours Truly, won big time, going 3 for 3 in our contests.
Meanwhile, Kirkwood won a barnburner with a checkmate that sent shivers down my spine!
Our Open Section Team, however, has had continued losses. 0-4 on the day. We plan to regroup and kick butt. However, we did get some star power with a game against Nakamura’s second, Kris Littlejohn. This game has some INSANE variations. The computer's evaluation was all over the map.
