I've heard that "The art of attack" is a nice book
Best book at explaining tactics
Sort:
"Chess Tactics for Champions" by Susan Polgar is extremely well written in terms of explanation, examples, and the inclusion of really outstanding and very famous "classic" combinations.
"The Art of (the) Checkmate" by Georges Renaud and Victor Kahn is the classic book that is concerned solely with very common typical mating patterns that every chessplayer should know, but almost none rated under 2200 actually do.
Currently reading Chess Tactics from Scratch by Weteschnik which is excellent at explaining how to look for patterns.
Predator at the Chessboard by Farnsworth is also excellent.
Not interested in a book full of tactics problems as I have those.
Anyone know of other middle level books which explain tactics? I'm a low level club player however rating here is 1992.
Thanks,
