Chessbase v Chess Assistant

Im looking for a bit of help here, I currently have chessbase 11 but i am looking to upgrade.

Has anyone here used chess assistant and how does it compare to chessbase?

Chessbase is fantastic but so much more expensive.

Any help would be appreciated

I personally have been unimpressed with CB12, their claims of speed increases are completely false. For example, when using the reference tab with my own reference database, it takes up to 15x times LONGER than CB11 does.

As usual, customer service from ChessBase GmbH is awful, and a year after buying CB12 and adding various upgrades, i see no improvement whatsoever.

I too would be interested to hear from Chess Assistant users, i considered switching there when i bought CB12, the 7-piece Lomonosov tablebases could be a significant improvement.

I've owned every version of Chessbase since V6, and have bought various other products from them including Fritz (multiple versions), Fritz Endgame Turbo 3, and many Chessbase Miniatures.

I won't be buying another product from Chessbase 

Thanks for your input on this, I have had no problems with chessbase 11 it has served me well.

I just feel there is little point in spending £200 on chessbase if chess assistant is just as good for far less!

Ok which should I buy, Chessbase 13 or Chess Assistant 15? Also when is Apple going to get something like this for MAC?
