I was wondering do you think chess books send mixed messages because they are written by people and their opinions are different to other people.
for example if one chess book says that I shouold castle straight away where as the other one says that I should not . Then if I was a new person to chess I would not know what to do.
what do you think?

I guess , it would be more useful if you watch the games between big players.Open up Youtube and search Magnus Carlsen, you will see some games.Another way to improve your chess and get your sight of chess better , do some trainings.Here you have tactics trainer.Search for some openings , learn their good and bad ways, by playing them in Live chess, so you could choose which one to use.I hope these help
