Check out the games dude, none of these were blitz games...
Are openings really important? I dont think so after i won this...

Right ... I think it goes to show that consistently doing a "sanity check" before playing the selected candidate move alone should be worth a couple of hundreds of rating points. (Not following this rule myself yesterday, I hanged my Queen when playing against my six year old daughter ...)

You really think people care about poorly played chess-games. THEY DO NOT !!
well i recognize a troll when i see em.. but seriously even if you are joking... its not only that you play the opening.. its you entire understanding of chess will deep, learning all plans and ideas and strategies as well as tactcs, the pros and cons will one day make you able to be a master of great planing, with that gap in knowledge you will never reach you full potential.. if anythng good at all... never wondered why businessmen usually know so much about other stuff??.. well its the same with chess.... it will help your entire game and make it more fun...
Your opponent was trying to use the Sholar's mate(Is that the name?) and you defended accordingly. The thing is, the Scholar's Mate is rarely if ever used at all(outside of lower ranked play) because it's just so easy to defend against.
The dedicated openings are DEFINITELY better and very important for higher ranked play. I suggest you don't worry much about openings too much until you're like 1500 or so.
I'd like to see a few things. First of all, your opponent made some terrible errors ( move 23 and move 19, to name a couple ) that higher rated players would never make.
Also, KefkaKGA, if one doesn't worry about openings until they're '1500 or so', then how do you expect them to ever get to 1500? The opening is an important part of the game. Oh and Kefka, I'm not trying to start an arguement, I'm only stating my opinion.
MY opponents? I never posted any games here x_x
What I was trying to say was "Don't worry too much about openings until you're higher in the ranks because tactics are strategies are a bit more important below that."
Lol, I have to admit that this thread is kinda fun.
I guess these were blitz games? I don't play blitz myself, but I imagine it's psychologically quite tempting to forgo checking the safety of one's own moves against someone who is moving his king that early.
