Sorry, but I don't believe that you read the entire article, because each section has a good reason why the gambit isn't played often, namely that White has many ways of having an advantage.  Black either ends up a pawn down with only a development advantage as compensation (and I distrust any gambits with that situation, including the Smith-Morra, because careful defense nullifies that advantage, leaving that side a pawn up for nothing), while in others White simply has a better position, even with material equality.

And arguing that you've done well with it doesn't make it any more sound.  Congratulations, you've done very well with it, but it's still a bad opening for a very good reason.

Hahaha, he's drunk

it sucks

The Englund gambit is just a free pawn for white without any compensation for black. Isn't that enough?

A developmental advantage can be sufficient compensation sometimes, depending. Though gambits like the Morra and the Blackmar rely on control of open files for long term compensation in addition to the development. The Englund doesn't achieve a developmental advantage though. It contorts pieces to subpar squares to regain the gambit pawn. Those types of gambits are worthless.
