KID vs Benoni

Sort:
AVStone

I've played the KID for a fair amount of time on and off, but I've been considering switching to a variation of the benoni, which I've been trying in a few games.  I guess it kind of comes down to initial flexability of the pawn structure (KID) or initial clarity (Benoni), both of which have their advantages/disadvantages.  What are some things I should weigh before deciding which to play, and if I do choose the benoni, any suggestions for variations?

Some benoni variations are quite standard to use within KingsIndian like the four pawns, and samisch. Could use it against other lines like 3g3 where it is quite respectable too, because d5 blocks activity of Bg2. It's quite popular for white these days because recommended in Avrukh rep for white.

Think need to be more prepared to put up with positional defects, inorder  to get active peice play.

For specfic variations who are better advised to get hold of a book by a GM Author. The recent quality chess book seems quite decent.

I prefer kings indian because it does not concede as much space to white in the middle game. I also like attacking the king in kings indian and in Benoni you Attack on the queenside.
