With age comes memory loss and fatigue. Anand won 1 game in two matches. "Still has it?" he never had it to begin with unfortunately.
Caruana is the obvious choice, So and Giri are even a little younger than that.
Also, it hasn't been mentioned yet that the game in the video is a farily well known composition for fastest stalemate by Sam Loyd. He also made one for white:
Nice chess April Fools joke, but if it would have been real, then I would have seen that match as Norway vs Sweden; a scandinavian battle. (Of course Norway would have had a gigantic advantage against Sweden in this match.)
Oh yeah they come from 2 different Scandinavian countries don't they? That makes the match even more historic!
I think it's clear the subject should be changed. Who do you guys think is best placed to challenge Carlsen for the World Champs? I think Caruana but maybe Anand still has it in him?
