Since a few days my father and I have noticed a change on the problems we get: we get problems rated 50-100 lower than our own rating and when we fail problems we always get -17 and when we pass a problem we only get +8 if we solve it on 80%. My father's rating drained from 1200 to 1000 and he's crying all the time . My rating drained a lot too.

Why have you changed this system?

How come is your tactics trainer rating around 1000-1200 if your turn based rating is about 2000. Something doesn't make sense.

I mean my father's rating drained from 1200 to 1000. His turn based rating is 1500-1600. My rating drained from 2400 to 2200 and I'm sure it will drain more.

Oh okay, my mistake =) I haven't noticed any changes in tactics trainer though :S I believe you should get harder puzzles soon as you get easier ones now. The puzzles are randomly chosen (I guess) so your luck should change. However if you fail at the easier ones I don't see how you would beat the harder ones :S hopefully you are just having a bad day today and tomorrow is better =)

It could be true that I have a bad day. But I still think it's strange that we only get lower rated puzzles. We have tried like 100 puzzles, and all the time the puzzles were rated 50-100 lower than our own rating. We have to solve two puzzles to compensate one failure, that's why our rating drains so fast.

That sure seems strange :S hopefully erik finds the problem if there is one, I just realised that the puzzles I solved today were all below my current rating. I'm rated about 1500 and the problems varied from 1410 - 1440 strange indeed!

Thanks giantguido for figuring this out!  My rating has been sliding down, and I kept wondering why I never got one of those nice 30 or 40 point boosts from a really hard problem.... This is why.  Give us the hard stuff! 

In the last few months my TT rating has been all over the place.  Highest was 2200 then dropped to 1400, now hovering around 1700.

This has been fixed. thanks for finding it.
