I would if I could...
Chess.com is Hiring! Looking for QA / Tester

Wow. That is incredibly tempting. But I think I will keep my tedious, boring, meaningless, over paid job.
Any more details available on this position? Is it full time? $$$? Hourly pay or salaried professional?

Not paying very much - $10+/hr??? geez Around here decent QA people get a lot more than that. Benefits?? As the saying goes - you get what you pay for. What is MickeyD's paying now? Not much less.

McDonalds is paying 9/hr. for part-timers at my place, and 10/hr to full-timers. I am earning more than this job right now at 10.70/hr! Plus I get benefits for a couple of bucks a paycheck!

deepOzzzie and others: If you're interested in full-time salary info in general for the IT field (and other fields as well) in the US, look at http://salary.com/ -- it has a very decent database where you can view distinctions based on geographical area and specific job titles.
I can tell you right away that the pay in the IT field in US, Europe, and at least some areas of the Far East (I assume elsewhere too, but I don't have data) is quite generous (it can vary significantly by geography) compared to many other fields of employment, so you needn't worry about that at all!
All you need is to become good at your skill: the better you are, the more money you make, generally... Starting with credible projects, and especially working with insightful and smart colleagues is always very important, so I advise you to not worry about the money at first -- if that's what's stopping you from applying for this particular job that Erik posted. The money follows incredibly fast for those (not only in IT) who don't chase it all the time but are good (and getting better) at their trade.
I hope this has been helpful to many of you!
If you have specific questions or need more details regarding what I shared above, I'd be happy to answer. Contact me directly. I have spent a lot of time in the IT field and know it quite well.
(Note: I am not representing chess.com. For chess.com-specific questions, Erik is obviously the best person to talk to.)
um money doesnt really concern me, as long as i do something i love doing. :D Which is everything IT based. :D

i have no idea where you got the idea about payment terms. i made no such claims.

I looked at the add and it says something like candidate at $10.05/ hour or something. I wasn't sure if that was the salary but it seemed like it could be. I've never been on that site before.
