Quite nice, but I still think the standard chess.com colors are the best.Smile

Looks nice, but arg, with white lettering, you can't read the usernames in the notes.  :)   Maybe try black or a very very dark blue. ???

Cool background!

I was going to make a joke about an S&M theme with leather, but you frighten me.

I know about the white lettering and how hard it is to read it, but if you aren't very popular and (or) don't get very many notes it doesn't matter. But I will see what I can do.

http://www.chess.com/members/view/Johnny_Reb What do you think? It is really quite hard to get everything seeable.

That looks all right now, but I liked that other shade of blue better. The grayish shade you had first.

I liked it to but the color for the font wouldn't go with it, and if it did something else would go blank.

Hi Erik

I tried to create my own theme quite some time ago and haven't tried since, other than to insert my own background image which is the easy bit. What put me off/made it hard for me (not being a trained designer) was that I couldn't see how it was looking as I went along. I didn't understand what many of the headings or subheadings meant (eg Subnav Background Colour?/Main Panel Title Color?/Font Color 2? etc). So I couldn't work out what I was changing or how it was looking. I got very frustrated and gave up. Is it more user friendly now?

User friendly to me would be that I could have a look at it as I was designing it and that I knew what the different heading meant so that I knew what I was actually changing.

Not bad.

Regarding our Editing Themes Page,I'm wondering why we don't hv the option to choose our Font Types ( like Georgia,Impact, etc ) anymore like we used to be able to,before the New Chess.com Format change ?

Hope we can hv it back soon,if possible.

Tnx So Much !

Here is a fun little tool that can help you select colors for a theme:

http://www.colorsontheweb.com/colorwheel.asp

Click the buttons and it randomises 3 colors for background, secondary and text.

Hey!

I've changed a background of "Wood" and I think it looks much better. Take a look

It's going to be obsolete anyway with V3.
