This is something I've seen on several other sites, and I thought it could be useful in tournaments as well as in normal play:  A game is set to X days/game, instead of X days/move.  I think the normal time is 30 days/game, but some sites can be set as high as 60 days or as low as 14 days.

[ERIK response: we will probably not do this too soon. it would be a major programming effort for probably a minor change. what we will probably do instead is give more options around finding partners who have more similar "Avg. Time per Move" stats.]

You mean, like live chess, just that its G/30days? That would be pretty cool.

[ERIK says: there are a whole host of unanticipated difficulties in doing it this way. for example, let's say that your opponent is a jerk, and he knows when you log off. then he waits until you are in bed to make his last move, so then it is your clock ticking off for 10 hours every night. this would make gaming the clock a big deal. we're probably not going to ever do this. but we might do a timebank system.]

we need "conditional moves"  option similar to [EDIT] other sites ...coz correspondance chess may take much more time!

[ERIK says: this is on the to-do list]

Team games.Premium members would can create team and give name to team(be captains, captains would can be automatically or manualy for join to his team, put  minimum rating for request, minimum wins...of course everybody would can play in only 1 team).Non premium members would can only join to team or send request and then captain would decide accept him/her or not accept.

(sorry for my bad english)

League. It would be great but only for premium members. :(  No,problem I understand.

Championship.Championship would be playing every 6 months. It would be fun!

Cleaning-every 1 month chess.com staff would decide which topics should be deleted, not only locked,DELETED!

[ERIK says: we will do team/group tournaments. we may do a league or other type of play, but we do have a tournament ladder already. we will have lots of site tournament championships. our first one is already underway. and i'm NOT going to spend time cleaning up old, dead threads :)]

i dont know if it is really a good idea, but it would be nice(atleast for me) to see a situation where we could pass a game to a friend if both the players agree, and it might also be decent to have a test messaging area(which the players may wish to keep or not) where people not involved in the game can speak. this situation will be especially good when playing unrated games and the players are open to suggestions and would like to know how to improve their game.

can we have a feature to take back a move if the opponent agrees. i am personally against it but you know some times we may press submit by mistake

[ERIK says: we will add a teaching mode sometime that is unrated and with takebacks]

Only in unrated games I hope?

[ERIK says: yes - only unrated]

It would be nice to be able to start Vote Chess Games. It could be a gret learning tool for Study Groups and perhaps not too much programming?

[ERIK says: i am afraid of doing this, as it might then have SOOO many games going that it is hard to get good participation. what i would prefer is to get more official games going, with recommendations from people on how to split teams]

I can see slipping with the mouse and dropping a piece on the wrong square. I couldn't imagine the compulsive disorder that's causing you to click the Submit button so quickly you don't realize it.

Hey erik, I have posted my suggestion some time ago in this topic.

I would personally consider it a big improvement if the clock in the tactics trainer would simply reset at a fixed time. I lose at least 1 day a week (in terms of tactical problems) with the current system.

What do you say?

[ERIK says: if you love it so much, why don't you subscribe? :D maybe we'll change this in the future.]

In home page of tournaments for example: New Delhi Open,chess.com staff would put picture of that city and infornmation about that tournament. E.G. date,hours-when started, last years winners team,5 days per move...

Agreed.  I've never mouse slipped a move in an e-chess game, however I do think this feature would help immensely with on-line teaching/coaching.

I think my two biggest are conditional moves, which has already been mentioned, and the ability to add comments to a game's PGN while the game is in progress.

[ERIK says: both will happen. conditionals first.]

I think I have a good suggestion here if it hasn't already been implemented: Could you put challenges received/given on your homepage?  A friend of mine said he would recently challenge me, and I kept waiting for it to pop up on the "My Home" page -- only then did I click "Online Chess" under "My Home" and saw the challenge there (ok, I know what you are thinking: "Duh!", but hear me out).  If you can do that, then is there a way that if there are no pending challenges, just have that whole section disappear from your homepage so "real estate" isn't taken up?

[ERIK says: you should see challenges in your ALERTS panel already. and that section DOES disappear if you don't have challenges :)]

Hey...another request here, but it might be a big one...

Is there a way you could make the "My Home" page customizable to the degree that you can choose which sections you want shown.  For example, if you really didn't care about seeing your tracked activity or your latest blog post, that would not have to be part of your home page, and there could be a little "X" in the upper-right hand corner of each "section" to make it go away.  Then at the very bottom (or top) of the page, there could be a drop down of different sections you could insert.  That would be VERY cool, but sounds like might be a lot of work...?

 [ERIK says: one day]

I will when my financial status allows me to Tongue out (don't know exactly when that'll be). But even if I was a premium member I would consider this an improvement from an objective point of view.

Greetings

For the "who can see..." privacy section, is there a way you could add the option "Only me" along with the already implemented "Everyone" and "Friends only"?  For my blog section, I am currently annotating one of my games (since the annotate-games-in-progress is not quite implemented yet), and I would prefer if only I could see it, but alas, the most restrictive I can make it is "Friends Only".  Either that, or maybe implement the option PER BLOG ENTRY to make it Private (for my eyes only).

[ERIK says: that is why we have the Save as Draft mode ;) only you will see it]

On one of the last updates that Erik gave us, one of the noted improvements to their system was "Ability to save notes about users only accessible to Admins".  I read that and immediately broke into a sweat.  Eager and enthusiastic about the site: yes.  Eager and enthusiastic about the site and annoying: must avoid at all costs.  Will do so by switching to decaf.  Sealed
