It's very tempting to spam that topic with some fun stuff, but then the OP gets offended, which isn't good for the poor OP, who, despite having NFI, bordering on being a "chess moron", doesn't deserve to have their topic hijacked and have the topic openly ridiculed without at least understanding the answer to the question.

Well, maybe yes, maybe no.  If we assume the little goof to be like this:

...then okay, I can see your point.  Too often though such thread-bearers come across more like this:

...and they only seem to get worse and worse as things go on.

It seems to me that maybe giving them a little guff about their cluelessly imperious attitude might at least begin to impart to them some sense of the reality of the situation.  Maybe not...but I suspect that forum Rhodas will always be easily offended, and that it has less to do with any respondents' waggish attitudes than with the fact that somebody--anybody at all--dares to contradict them and their own view of the world.

Do you recall the 'real' reason you created the spam group?

BQ..why do you say a troll?

Because the troll is the one who destroys topics and too many of them result in forum quality to drop.

BTW, my post was NOT intended to deride erikido23, I posted that before  I saw his post!  And THAT is another issue with some forums, accidentally being taken out of context!!  If I had seen his post first, I would certainly not have made that comment.

Bad timing on my part, so sincere apologies to erikido23.  Was not meant to attack you but state what the problem is with a lot of forums!!

Kinda funny tbh!  lol!

Haha...Talk about irony.  I did think that was probably the case.

OOh! I sense a reminder of humility

Stevie65

Jees Apex are you tryin to monopolise?

kco

Well seeing this is in the off topic now, spam away !

Stevie65

Hey KCO.. give it a chance..you gave it 3 out of 10.  I would say about 7 now.

It is about forums and not chess.

I agree 100%.

Exit all humor.

It just occured to me!  Staff is likely to shut down the greatest chess.com thread of all time.

Dude, your photos thread is all photos!  At least it should take them a while.

zborg

Only in "Off Topics" does creativity flourish, and photos are still allowed?

Is that all that remains?

Still, it's fairly entertaining.  Check out the 6 minute video in post #117.

goldendog

It's off-topic photos that are the issue.

Chess pieces in a chess piece thread aren't going to ruffle any feathers.

Image bombing threads in the help sections, games analysis etc is a problem.

What were those 5 chickens doing?  In public?

Hey, there are children on this site.

VULPES_VULPES

Being chased by tigers... devouring lawn mowers... being a chicken... etc.

Stevie65

I'm not the sole person who moderates this forum ya know :)

There are forum moderators on here too or perhaps we just don't have enough of those.

That can be arranged :D

Stevie65

Ok Kohai. got ya. you were, i know there.

Here_Is_Plenty

I hereby retract anything I said about there being some quality posting on the internet.  The great chicken debate has crossed threads and corrupted anything pure left on this site.  Don't defend me - I know I said there's a lot of rubbish here too - that doesn't excuse my blinkered vision.

Why did the chicken cross the thread?  The answer sadly seems to be "To get it locked".  Alas, world.

Stevie65

I'll never eat "Angus burgers" again.

Stevie65

Can chickens do that?

Here_Is_Plenty

Snakes, I have only one thing to say...okay, thats a lie - as many of you know I never have only one thing to say:

1) The key word there is defending scottish cattle, not inserting randomly.

2) That coo has an IM title and plays regularly in the Highland Chess League

3) Who wouldnt want a picture of a redhead showing her skills with her tongue?
