Humble Plea...

Dear Chess.com member,

First, I can see from your various ratings and postings on the forum you are good at chess.

However, there is something that is somewhat of a pet peeve of mine you have inadvertently triggered.

Could you please edit your thread title to correctly spell Carlsen's name?

There is no "O" anywhere in his name.

Like I said, it's just a pet peeve of mine but really drives me up the wall and everyone seems to do it.

I really appreciate it if you can do this for me.

Please appreciate the fact I have attempted to request this privately and not publicly to spare you any embarrassment. Thank you.

Yes, exactly. It's like these people are thinking, "well I know what a son is, but 'sen' can't be right for a name because I can't make a noun out of it." lol. And their minds are doing that processing so quickly it's imperceptible so they just churn out the "O" where there is no "O" like they're automatic writing or something.

AndyClifton

They might even see this thread as a "Humblo Ploa"!

too much larceny here

I agree. One more O where the e is and it will be some arson.

They must have skipped English class to watch episodes of Arsonio Hall or something.

They said, "Who uses Onglish anyway?"

Don't ever get the i and the o mixed up in a message. I thought my friend had SHOT himself. lol. :-)

At least that sounds more badass than if he had spelled it correctly
