you can only leave on vacation when it is NOT your move in any game.

I play mostly slow, thining games, and I am suddenly forced to move in every of them. Plus in those few faster my opps continue replying before I finish all moves.

Just considering abandoning them all

Uff, blitzed my moves in all those 10days/move games and managed to catch the moment to go for vacation.

Still, I find this restriction to be incredibly stupid.

If you're a premium member, it'll put you on vacation automatically. That really nice. I've gotten spoiled! :)
