Today we did a small release of a few things:

- Open Analysis board (we received many requests to "open" up the analysis board)

- Titled Players Title shows up in articles/news/blogs

- Updated Blogging Features (top blogger spots not hogged by 1 person, top blogs shown more randomly)

- Team Match Messages (decline and ready messages sent to team admins for matches)

- Limit People with Huge Numbers of Games from accepting open seeks

- Limit Anyone from accepting more open seeks if they already have 2+ games with you (though they can directly challenge)

- Fixed some form-submit issues in the membership checkout process

- Preparatory code for videos :D

- General stability stuff, a few typoes, etc

Dozy

Grazie, it's appreciated.

I wonder what "huge numbers of games" means numerically?

ozzie_c_cobblepot

me too

I know who prompted it though

knightspawn5

Don't know, good question though.

Doggone typoes.  Wink

Thanks, Erik!

Masterful_Forfeit

Yes, it's a tough guess as to who made the staff consider limiting players with huge amounts of games... Can't really think of any player who posts constantly on the forums and has 1000+ games going at once...

Really, I'm clueless here.

ADK

Does it apply to the articles too?

They should add the ability to resign if a certain move is made to the conditional moves feature

Hehe, i know  the answer to this one. :) It has to be a number of games that is great then the highest number of game awardchess was playing. :)

I don't think you do.

There is a user who has, as I write this, more than ten times the number of in progress games as AWARDCHESS.

3534 to 349

So do tournaments count in this "game limit"?

I'm playing in 2 tournaments, and about 20 or so games, not including a few challenge games.

Dozy

He's not talking about <50 games, probably not <100. It'd be interesting to know the number, though.

Beelzebub666

If the Queen deigned to abbreviate the term 'typographical error', she would have no need of an 'e'.

LATITUDE

Code for VIDEOS???????? Aber bitte mit sahne...

Saccadic

IMHO, 'Analysis Board' was better when I would be prevented from capturing my own Queen with my King -- something which accidently happened this morning. Is it not possible to keep both versions?

pawnzischeme

Shoot, I enjoyed the ty44po9#@s.  Never not77iced mny far some rea**_son.

Honolulu147

Yes, all games count in the limit, but just so every one is on the same page, the limit only prevents people from accepting open seeks. People over the limit (which is something like 150 games) can CREATE open seeks, and they can create and accept direct challenges.

Let me explain what this does. Lets say that there is a person (like me) who does not want to play anyone with more than 200 games going, for whatever reason. This allows me to do this. If I create an open seek, such a person cannot accept that seek. If someone else wants to challenge said chess-crazed person, they are free to, but I'm not forced to either play with a person I don't want to play, or abort a game after they accept it, and make a new challege, taking the risk that they might accept it again. On the same token, if the person with 1000+ (or 3000+) games wants more, they can still create open seeks, but then the person accepting the seek gets a chance to see who they are playing, and not choose that game if they dont want to play them.
