I told Kohai about it. and she blew me off. not her department she says.

tells me to put a ticket into billing.

i was never billed, paid on the spot off a credit card. they know about it and still give me the cold shoulder.

nobody from chess.com takes resposnability for anything.

Thats Cool. i got my Credit Card company, my Assemblymen, congressman and senators, To handle this . will work my way up the ladder..

they need to be audited by a real computer. a good Goverment Computer.

your right LauriAikio, But they wont do that untill the Govornment Makes them..when i was in the marine corps, from 81-85, i was a computer operator, and the mainframe computer we had was older than i was and bigger than me. it was an old IBM 360 mod 40....360 k was all it had. it was so old we had to have TRW there every day damn near..but we got the job done..

  this last sponsership was for a 12 year old kid, they are not only bblowing me off, there embarassing the kid also. Real Big Shots they are allright.

  you catch them red handed, and they blow it off and tell me to contact billing.. what billing dpartment,,who are they billing? nobody. they get there money up front, and when there is an issue, thay say contact billing.

what about the old people who get taken advantage of through Neglagence, and are too old to know better...or the kids who are too young to know better, and keep begging there parents to pay more..?

Hi Billy, sorry you have problem. What was likely meant was to raise the issue via chess.com help/support (where there is a specific link for billing enquires in the '' account & membership '' section ?)

Thats not my job nor my department. you take money off peoples credit card up front and dont provide the service, its credit card fraud. and if you did not mean to do it , but it happens three or more times, its Neglagence in the State of California. 

And thats a Fact, Netzach.

and their Cold Shoulder Routine leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

its happened 3 times now, so its time for the Big Dogs To step in. Baby sitting the billing department, is a Govorment Issue, not mine..

  Neglegent Fruad is a Crime and Punishable , in a court of Law..

  will probably not sponsor any body any more, and go back to giving that money to my Church. i figuire when i sponsor somebody here, at least i know where my money is going.. not true...

  my three brain cells are telling me, that they take that money up front and put it into a general fund, then bill it , when its time.

The Fact of the matter, is that staff know about it now, and are doing nothing about it.. it took them 7 days tofix the issue befor this issue, and thats down right sloppy.

 i just had my only private Group, "willy wankas sweet word factory" Vaporized by chess.com.. all my poetry, phone numbers , forums, everything i held dear i put in that one man group of mine. not one bad word was posted in that group. and they Vaporized it, just for standing up to them..they could have put that effort into giving that 12 year old kid i sponsored, his platinum, and make things right, but instead,they got vindictive. and took everything i put in there for safe keeping, away..

Gotta Love it...

I was told by Kohai, that somebody complained about the Miss spelled Word Wanka's, that should have been Spelled, Wonka's..on the same morning..and she blocked me from responding..Got to Love it.. 

there are Agency's out there, that keep websites, inline, when it comes to Taking funds and not providing the services, that the money was rendered for...

   and the little 12 year old has to surf this website, with his premium Membership, stripped from him...

Nice, got to love it....

Specifically regarding the issues with gift memberships, would it be accurate to summarize the usual problem like this?:

No matter what membership type you select, if the user is already a premium member, the system simply applies the cash value of your gift to extend their current membership. 

?

In this last Case, that may be the Case.

But the other 2 cases, not the Case.

case#1 already had a platinum for a Month, but before the month ended, sponsored another Month at Platinum. New Month Never Kicked in, but problem was Taken Care of Speedily.

case #2 Already At Diamond For A Month, Sponsored Another Diamond For A Month. New Month Never Kicked In, Took Somewhere between 4-7 Days to Correct. Sponsored Same, Later, to Year at Diamond to Save 40%+ and seems to have worked.

Case #3 Is The Case Were on Now , Seems to be Making Headway, Got An ASAP message from Erik (thanks), and i also Put a Ticket into Billing this Morning...

Case #4  Vaporizing My Private Group For Miss Spelling "Wonka's", even Though "Wanka's" is not even a Word, on the Same exact Morning I Start Complaining About Case #3 To Kohai, More Than a Coincidence, Vindictive, and You Can Keep The Group Vaporized, Even Though That Group Has More Sweet Chess.com Group Poems For Other Groups, Than Any Other Group Here @ chess.com.

It seems like the system did exactly what it's supposed to do - at least in that case. :)

That is to say that it applied the $$$ amount of the gift to extend the user's current membership (without changing the user's membership type). There is messaging about that if you try to buy a gift for a premium member:

 

Perhaps we need to make that clearer, or add more emphasis...

But there is no concept of a gift creating a "pending" membership, to kick in automatically whenever the current membership term finishes. Even without thinking about auto-renewals, that's just way too complex.

Make sense?

It Does Not Make Sense. Ant its Not To Complex for an Average Computer.

If the Person Cant Get A year at Platinum when They Already Have a Diamond That is Going To Expire, Then it should not allow the Purchase.

it was a $49 Platinum Year Purchase, Paid as Such, and to break it down to $14.99 a month till it expires, is  not what i paid for.

  Are You Going To Give The Kid His Platinum ?

 He is only 12 years old, and i should not have to pay another $49 to get it for him. I Promised him a year at Platinum, and got him the Diamond for a Month, so i could Save up the Money (Debit card with Visa Logo from the unemployment department).

   It would take alot more out of my pocket than it would to give the kid the Gift that I Purchased For Him...

It would be Greatly Appreciated...

i was looking at your account post Greene.

and it looks like it let the purchaser purchase a year at Gold, and then after the Purchase, broke it down to 4 months at platinum.

  why did it not say befor it took the money that you could not buy that person a year at gold.

  if i would have been told that it would not be a year at platinum befor the purchase, then i would have waited till his diamond expired. but i was not forwarned. 

the order should not go through, if its not what you ordered..

i know now for the future, and my chess heart still goes out to other less fortunate chess players, and will sponsor more in the Future. just a bit mad yesterday.

please help the Lad Out...
