Perhaps the group made an exception for that person; would that be a bad thing?
Or perhaps the person'e rating was higher when they joined the group or the rating requirement has been changed since he or she joined.
It is a bit difficult to understand why you find this so irritating; also why you think it is an issue of honesty.
Anyway I was minded to send you a challenge (unrated game) but I gather you have a rating cap on those you play so I couldn't. Send me a challenge if you fancy a game. :)
This a simple commentary about the veracity, rather truthfulness, of the ratings shown by different players. Just commenting, not acussing anybody. . ,for, otherwise, I would use another section of the forum.
There is player playing with a rating of around 1350 If you go to his "Profile" (by the way, very poor in this Forum) , there he invites to enter some "Teams and Groups".
OK. Nice social behaviour. . . but the "minimum rating required" to belong to one of those groups is 1550 (¡!)
Now, if he is 1350. . . how does he change chess personality when coming to the group? Marvelous. . . ah?
Due to this fact and other similiar cheating cases, I now play only "UNrated" chess games, where the probability of the existence of honesty may to be higher (for lack of ratings).
It is a shame tht things like that happen to such a nice and good club like chess.com
