Welcome to correspondance chess.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO SCREAM TO BE HEARD!!!!!!

if someone is delaying a tournament game in a losing position, simply contact staff and it will be adjudicated.

People have a right to use their time as they wish.  If you agreed to the game, you also agreed to the vacation time as well.

I have a game that started back in march that has just reached the 25 move.

If those opponents are too "chicken-shit" to finish their game against you, just relax and let them "take their vacation"; sooner or later they'll have to "come back to reality". Or do as the staff member suggested to you, report their dumb ass!

dervich

Paying members get a few ( 6 or 7, i don´t know for sure) extra days of vacation per year, and the possibility of activate those vacations automatically each time their time is running out...

It´s not such a big deal and is not something that decides the result of each game...Do really some 6 ou 7 days per year make all that difference?!... Come on...

Conquistador

Hey I have seen games continue for over 2 years.  I just looked at one today that just reached the 85 move.

The problem is that when someone takes a long vacation they are forcing you to either resign or continue babysitting the game until they feel like coming back from vacation.

There's a reason why premium membership has a benefit. I hate to say this, but that's your problem if you don't upgrade to a membership. You are cheating for being on chess.com for free when it takes lots of money to build.

That is false. Free members are shown ads for a reason.

Rahula

I agree that premium members should not have automatic vacation - this makes no sense. However, the choice to have a vacation is absolutely essential as people do have a life outside of chess.com and babysitting a game for a week or two is no biggy. problem - only play non-vacation tournaments and 1 day chess.

It would be good to have a half-way option between online and live chess that reflected the time scale of a usual, tournament chess match. Is this possible?

 Really? Why?

Every tourney has a TD, TD's have the power to resolve this blem if necessary, but really, vacation is there for a reason & I, myself, don't need to answer to nobody, to what I is up to on my vacation time, be it being malade, work,  travelling....etc, it's nobodies business what I  do with my vacation time, that time is mine, chess, is always about time, if you don't have the time, don't play & worse, don't moan for you'll only grow older faster, yo!

Sorry, I'm a kid, I've never heard of the word revenue.

Screaming in a post is not necessarily using capital letters and can be at times. I am not very good at typing  occasionally I hit the capital letter and the whole post is in capital letters and I do not feel like retyping the whole post so I leave it as I wrote it.

A New Times Roman font in the 8.5 font size does not appear to me to be provocative at all and certainly not shouting at someone.

However Strong Trebuchet point in a 24 point size in red color, the alert color for danger, is certainly an over action to the post.

Perhaps an inquiry to the author of the post as to his intentions would be more appropriate than shouting an "éberlué" answer.

I know it's French my language .

It is accepted that typing in all caps in a chat or forum is the equivalent of yelling in person.  http://www.pcnineoneone.com/howto/bettercomm1.html

That's only one way to explain caps, but sometimes it can be used to show IMPORTANCE.
