Q+R vs Q+R endgame.

It is black to move, my thoughts were to keep an eye on the e5 square, then wait for white to do something silly. Not the best of plans I know, what should the plan be in a position like this?

Can Black win this position? Not without a lot of help from White.

Black's options are basically 1...e5 accompanied by a draw offer or 1...c5 2. dxc5 Qxc5 when he's hoping that control of the d-file is more important than White's queenside majority.

VibrantMoves

It's a draw with perfect play even though Queens are on the board.

I think 1....c5 is best cuz if 2.dxc5 Qxc5 black has more active pieces but it will still be a draw most likely.

Of course this endgame is a draw but it doesn't mean that there are no ways to creatively commit suicide, such as 1...e5? 2.f4! Laughing

Thanks everyone Smile I thought it was drawing, it must be impossible to win from a position like this, unless your opponent does something dubious, like blundering a queen.

A pawn would be sufficient.

I missed 2. f4, but doesn't 2...f6 still hold the draw?

3. fxe5 fxe5 3. Qf5 Qf7, for example
