My friend and I were playing a friendly game on the computer, and after what appeared to both of us to be a checkmate the game actually never declared a winner.
Could someone please take a look at the last move and enlighten us on whether or not it is a checkmate? If it's not checkmate, could you please explain why?
I don't know. I guess the system you used (I'm assuming it's not chess.com here) doesn't declare the game over when a checkmate or stalemate is reached. The position is definitely checkmate though.
cant the white queen block the black checking queen if only for one move?
