In Need of a Plan

This should be easy. Double/tripple on open line, force exchanges. If you can remove both rooks and the queen from the game its easy win.

When winning simplify and exchange pieces.

edit: yes, you played reasonable moves well done

It seems to me that you are playing just fine. Maybe there's something quicker like 25... Re2 26. Qc1 Rxf2! 27. Kxf2 Qxh2+ 28. Kf1 Re2 -+ but so what - your win was never in question.

P.S. 5... e5! is a standard trick to net a piece.

StrategicPlay

Agree with Shakaali, d6 was never needed. 5...e5 wins a piece instantly.

Thanks, the 25. ...Re2 line is much more accurate and I will certainly keep in mind your e5! move in these type of positions seeing of course that after Bxe5; Qa5+

In my opinion, if you are stuck with a plan-less game, you should take a break from calculating and point out the pro's and con's of each player. Here you had an extra bishop allowing you extra play on the dark squares and taking advantage of the rooks. Your centre was a little better and your opponent had doubled pawns. You also had semi-open and open files for your rooks.

Also if you're material up you want to trade as many pieces as you can to get into an advantageous endgame, a piece up. Plans may be hard but looking at the pro's of your position allow for a quick and easy plan even if it is a few moves at a time.

Hope this helped :)

I don't think one needs to do anything special with an extra piece. Just play normal. Occupying the open file, provoking g3, creating a protected passed pawn with d4+c5 worked out fine in the game but if white had done something else like Re1 instead of Rd1 then black would also need to modify his actions accordingly. It's not always necessary or possible to have any grand plan.
