My Worst Game on Chess.com

    Here's the overview:

Even though Chess.com is mostly correspondence, I'm a speedy chess-player who's used to playing Blitz a lot, and uses roughly 2-10 seconds per move on average (it says 2 minutes and something on my profile because of 1 measley game being played currently where the other guy kept leaving).  That being the case, I was so out-of-game on the day this was played that the first blunder I made was so big it made me on panic mode the entire game.  It took me a while to get over my embarassment, but I finally decided to showcase this:

Cheers to my first game analysis post on Chess.com.  Pardon my lack of proper annotations... I'll re-edit it if necessary.

Well...  Anyways... if anyone wants to play me.  Please read "Playing Conditions" on my blog first.  If I receive a challenge, I'll assume you have read it... but I'll drop you a note asking about it just in case.

He took my first loss on Chess.com... and the highest rating I've ever achieved to this day.  I'm slowly climbing back up now, with lessons learned.

it's the grob i think.  also called the spike.  seriously though, why play so fast for no reason, and if you want to do so, why come to a correspondence chess site to do it.  seems odd to me when you can play real blitz chess for free elsewhere, in a more blitz-oriented environment.  playing faster than you need to for no reason doesnt excuse a blunder.

Very odd opening, but the game itself was very amusing, especially the annotation.

Let's see... because I want to?  And because Chess.com is cool?  Gee I dunno...  Oh and live chess doesn't save your games... unfortunately.

Daft... eh?  Daft like Jack!  I'll take that as a compliment, my dear friend.

I'm glad you liked it.  I really don't know how to annotate 'properly' so you guys'll just have to make do with pretty exactly what I was thinking every step of the way... including all the mindless cussing and grunts... here and there.

Those are some really horrible moves. Saying, "I was playing 2-4 seconds per move," doesn't make your chess game any better. I used to excuse myself using the same logic. "I lost because I was moving quickly and he was moving slowly." Well, if you say that and then don't take away the lesson that time is solid gold in chess, then you haven't learned anything.

great annotation, it kept me laughing and described your truth emotion as you see the perfect move........ for the opponent. believe me, ive done that before. urgh. perfect ending. "sigh" hahaha. what a punk!!! h8=R#. if he wanted to be different instead of promoting to a rook or queen, try a knight and mate that. that would be interesting. but good game black.

Posting a game that you lost shows some refreshing humility, good humor, and good sportsmanship. Bravo.

Those mistakes were pretty funny, but I guess that's how you win in blitz games eh?

Correction, worst game on Chess.com so far (just kidding).

I'm not sure I understand the blitz thing either, but I can say for sure that there are players out there who use unorthodox openings to try and unbalance their opponents and get them to think they're playing a weaker player and hopefully play sloppy.  I'm not sure if that's the case here, but it was obvious that you were treading in unfamiliar waters here, which probably led to the blunders.  It may convince you to take a second look at a position before snapping off a move, but don't take it too harshly.  In an OTB game, I got absolutely creamed by a guy who played the Crab (1.a4 e5 2.h4).  In my mind I thought I was playing some poor rube... 30 moves later, my opinion changed somewhat.

Great annotation, by the way.  I occasionally like to see someone who doesn't take their games too seriously.
