White against the Sicilian Taimanov

Hi guys! So I recently played this turnbased game vs a 2600 rating (rating from before our match). However, he was caught cheating so I picked up a win by time :D

I assume he was "cheating" throughout the game so this game might be good to see where I made mistakes.

I wasn't very satisfied with how I handled his Ng4, but I did my best afterwards.

I love these kind of games where you win the points AND take away valuable lessons Cool

Any insight guys?

The reason Qc7 isn't played often is because of Ndb5 followed by something like Qf3 you know, to play for Bf4, and the black queen could get into some trouble. Would've been worth a try :)

e5 was risky on your part as it opens the h1-a8 diagonal for blacks b7-bishop.

and yeah instead of c3 you could've played h3 Nh6 Kh1(or Kh2), unpinning the d4-knight.

Liked how you held the position against an alleged cheater :) Gg
