The following features a game from a double round event sponsored by a Dutch radio station. This event was considered as "ushering in the new generation" of chess players. Some of the players present at the event were: Alekhine, Euwe, Fine, Keres, and Flohr.

This specific game showcases Botvinnik vs Capablanca and is considered one of the great masterpieces in chess. Botvinnik ends the game after sacrificing off his last two minor pieces and managing to hold off Capablanca's desperate attempt to draw.

This second game features Botvinnik again. This time he's facing Keres. This amazing miniature shows a crushing defeat of White after Keres castles too soon, and on the wrong side.

Thx for these 2 enlightening games as they help me to improve my attacking options. The 2nd game is very impressive for Botvinnik.

Cheers, hv a nice & fun day in chess

you like those? then you'll like this one as well:

here's a game from my favorite player, paul morphy. it's a blindfold exhibition game versus an amateur named schulten. in typical morphy fashion, he rips apart the center and throws out a few sacrifices which continues to mount the pressure on his opponent's king. quite an entertaining game to say the least.
