Aborting LIVE Chess games affects timeout %.

I have noticed my timeout % creeping up and can't join tournaments now because it is above 10%. 

I think that aborting a live chess game affects your ability to join Turn Based Chess Tournaments which often run for month.s

But it's annoying because Live CHESS is not the same as Email CHESS... 

why should i be penalised for quitting a game there?

because that's the way it works. Don't abort games. If you want to play, then play. If not, don't seek. There is no situation in which aborting is necessary, except for certain rare ones.
