I haven't even read an endgame book yet. Would I be ok for it?

ChessinBlackandWhite

Yes your exactly where you need to be! Each lesson will actually have several levels so you do the lesson up to the point that you can and then the rest of the group will help you get a little further :)

There will be a beginner section (<1300), intermediate (1300-1800) , advanced section 1800-2100, and then a challenge section that should give even the 2100+ club a good workout

Where do you draw your material from ?

I m rated 1800 by playing chess for about a year.......now to increase my rating I need endgame training although I don't even know basic endgames....can I join?

Very loosely from a few books I have read, but I am going to really try to make most of it just based on my experience so that makes it easier for the lower rated players. I will be using some other sources for the advanced and challenge sections. I will be sending out a message tonight detailing a lot of this information. good question :)

Absulutely, for the first lessons you will probably just focus on the lower section, but you may surprise yourself and know more than you think. The lesson level is flexible so as you learn you can move up. Every lesson will start with the basics and then advance so you can use as much of the leson as you are ready for.

MichaelPurcell, you are 1800, and you are planning on giving 2100+ materiak. How are you planning to do that? Even if you are higher than your rating, and even if you  have beaten a couple of 2100 experts, It doesn't mean you are 2100. I am about 1800 strenght, but i have beaten masters in OTB play.

Everyone can see my strength so I am not hiding that. For those highrated players they will be getting material that I will be of little help to them yes. Orginally that wasnt the plan and I was going to only give material up to the point I am at, but then I was asked to provide material for them also so I will do my best to do that. If you feel I cant do that then you dont have to take the class haha. But it seems that you would benifit from the advanced section I will have also. Hope you are having a nice new years :)

Do you have any other credentials besides a sub-expert rating?

Aquafog

I looked at his coaching profile and his students reviews were very positive.

ChessinBlackandWhite

I have been teaching chess for a few years, president of my schools club, cutrrently writing a chess book actually, and am going into teaching which is important since more than rating its the ability to get students to learn that matters
