How do you play chess?

How do you like to play chess. Do you prefer looking at a computer screen or using a physical board. I play by using a real board during live chess, because it helps me concentrate in standard games. I think using my board, and I just play the moves on the computer. Does this help you? how do you play chess?

Nice responses. But to answer your question I prefer using the PC because it' s way easier to play out variations and sub-variations and then return to the game itself. Also I rarely if ever play OTB so now I'm used to using a "2-D" bd on my monitor, since I analyze all my CC and turn-based games that way. BUT, everyone should do whatever works best for themselves regardless of what everyone else does!

I like to move my pieces by throwing cats at the board.

I often sit with a small travelling chess set and ponder a position especially as I like to solve composed problems, but the analysis board on this site is excellent for games and very simple to use.

It is perhaps just as interesting as chess to see peoples habits as they play and has caused enormous ructions at high level chess and other competitive games.

I think I would not like to see my opponent picking his nose or tucking into hot soup while playing.
