I'm referring to a specific subject:) I'd mention the subject but avoided it in the post you referenced as well as this one to not run afoul of the double-standard
Is Chess really a waste of time?

Are you referring to the same thing I am not referring to? Or are you just avoiding referring to the thing that I avoided not referring to?
Interesting that chess.com allows that pic to remain but deletes anything not derogatory. Would seem a fair standard would be to delete all references
What is deragatory?
You are only wasting your time if you do not like playing chess.
I define something as "a waste of time" if it serves absolutely no positive purpose at all. Chess is a great excersise of the brain, whitch definitely does serve a positive purpose.

That depends. Are you the person that I'm speaking to?
I'm not but I can read what you wrote.
@Ubik42 - You can play dumb (I hope you're playing) and make jokes all you want. It's not what's posted that I'm writing about. It's chess.com's obvious double standard. If you don't see it, nothing I write will help and have no interest in continuing the discussion. Just wanted to point out the double standard and that's been done. If you and others don't see it, that's fine by me.
This is a silly concept, in my opinion. It's not like you were planning to do something more productive, anyways. :)
@ Psalm25: Why not join the Open Discussion group?

You can preach to the heathens there, until your wife is turned into a pillar of salt. Those guys really need to hear the Good News.

No, tell me about the double standard. I am not even aware of anything chess has actually removed or deleted, so I really have no clue.
Well, except for the thread by that qkcl guy, who was accusing everyone of being shills and wanted to sue everybody. Even though his account is closed, we still have a game going on, and in a couple of months when his vacation runs dry, I will pick up 1 or 2 free rating points!
It has nothing to do with "preaching to the heathens" (which I never did here or anywhere else.)
It has to do with chess.com's double-standard. What is so hard to grasp about that?
@Ubik42 - As I already said, if you and others don't see it, that's fine by me. No problem. Carry on!:)

Ok. My assumption will be its a non-issue then. Whew!
Let doggy style give an example of where I "preached to the heathens." Then I'll cite chess.con's double standard
If you and others don't see that there isn't a double standard, that's fine by me
I know Psalm25 persuaded you Ubik, but I'm gonna reverse it!
Exactly. What's a waste of time to one person isn't a waste of time to someone else. The author of that article undoubtedly has a hobby of some sort so his argument that chess is a waste of time could just as easily be applied to his hobby. And there are plenty of hobbies that are more expensive and have less of a social component than chess (not to mention less benefit to intellectual growth and learning "life lessons.")
