Mismatch? You have not seen anything yet!

You've probably played someone hundreds of points higher than you, on this site.

To paraphrase Crocodile Dundee. That's not a mismatch.

This is a mismatch!! "Second seed GM Alexander GM Moiseenko of Ukraine, rated 2670, faces a youngster Vojdani Siavosh, 11, rated 1753, in the first round.".

Let's assume you knew in time and you are in Iran, does not matter how or why. (Maybe next year.) Would you pay US$180 for a chance to play Moiseenko or Rustam Kasimdzhanov.

FIDE's logo is prominently displayed. How many ratings points would you steal from them (if they passed out from the heat and timed out)?

An eleven year old rated 1753 (with serious demeanour)? the GM was probably crapping himself for the first few moves, imagining the horror headlines if he lost to the "next big thing", before he was even discovered.

I hate playing kids, too scary.

My only tournament loss to a kid so far was against a 1300, who went on to draw an NM as black in the next round.  Underrated kids are SCARY.

I saw an 8 year old draw an FM, then in the skittles room had little time to look at the FM's ideas and spent a good 20 minutes showing why he should have won and a staggering array of winning variations that the FM side-stepped before he grabbed a perpetual.

I personally don't mind losing to kids, I just wish they would wait until they were taller than waist high before bringing out the super-ego.
