Evans gambit is known to be a variation of the italian opening.But it turns out it might be strong if you study the lines carefully and memorize traps,ive seen a nice sacrifice on evans gambit and its cool,getting you a pawn,trading a knight for the bishop and activating your queen.This is a variation of evans gambit,also its played many times by Masters around the world:)

The Evans is certainly not about "memorizing traps". It is a positional gambit, and requires good strategical understanding rather than memorizing certain lines and relying on tactics. This is the main reason the big majority of lowly rated players give up on it after a few failures.
