Can someone post the history of this weird game? Is Rybka not programmed to resign when everything is lost?

this is crap for a game.  All Naka did was repeat the position dozens of times in there and waited for rybka to mess up.  I'm disappointed.

17 more moves and it could've claimed a draw per the 50 moves rule!

I was watching the 3rd video. It's strange, it looks like a shopping centre. Folk are slowing sliding up an escalator as two of the greatest blitz players have a dust up. I wonder if they even knew a slither of the greatness they'd just seen.

Yeah, either a shopping center or one of those big train stations. Definetly doesn't seem to be an ideal venue for top-level chess, but I guess it was good for the sponsors.

why would you be disappointed?? first of all the Engine wasn't offering a draw! so naka had three choices- 1. force a win (impossible)  resign (hahaha) or play on until the engine accepts that the position is a draw. I dont think he expected Rybka to mess up

I like how naka wasn't afraid of sacing two exchanges, realizing that the rooks have no more value than the minors.

I don't know how people can complain about this game: moving back and forth a lot... what else are you going to do against rybka, especially in a 3 0 game?

Nakamura outlasted a COMPUTER, and the strongest one, that's absoluetly superhuman. Think about it, he played 271 moves in 3 minutes with no increment! That's unbelievable enough (he pretty much couldn't afford to take any thinks during that game, and even if you premoved as fast as you could against your grandmother it would be hard! And keep in mind computers can make a move the instant you make one too), but he outplays rybka (as slowly as he was) in this time too, in fact taking the risk of timing out by even embarrasing rybka at the end with the bishops. That is just awesome.

I would assume that, yeah. But just the fact that he did it at all in my opinion is very impressive. I've seen a grandmaster (of course not quite at naka's calibur) receive as much as rook odds when playing a somewhat weaker computer at this time control and lose many times.
