Good thread. I'm going to really start studying Chess for 2-3 hours a day, no excuses.
I'm going to totally revamp my openings. I'll never play E4 again. I'm going to respond to E4 with the Alekhines and to D4 with the Nimzo Indian. Openings I have never played before.
I really think that it's going to improve my game immensly, once I start becoming familiar with all these different openings and positions.
Well, the end of the year and the decade is quickly approaching, hard to
believe. Since this is a time for mental renewal, I have been thinking about
how to improve my chess.
I think I am going to really concentrate on improving my all-around game,
especially my lame blitz abilities. I will try to divide my time between:
Chess Mentor
Tactics Trainer
Game Explorer for openings
Computer Workout for endings
Live Chess
Online Chess
I think ultimately it is best to practice all areas of the game and be as well-
rounded as possible. This is easier said than done, however, as one tends to
practice strengths instead of weaknesses, in my case I find Endgame practice
tedious but I could definitely use the help.
So what are your New Year's Chess Resolutions?
