Just thought it curious. I mean it's not even just in America. Athletes in other countries even offer praise to a higher power when they are asked about their victories. Seems weird that chess players don't.
Professional chess players as compared to other professional sports players
I can think of some VERY strong reasons, but religious discussion is not allowed in this area.
Please join "Open Discussion" , where political and religious discussion are allowed, and pose your question there. I would be happy to discuss it.

Years ago I gave up trying to talk myself out of it; I simply began telling people that "Chess is my religion". I for one have never identified with the players in, say, MLB who makes some gestures with their hands, kiss their gold crucifixes, and look up at the sky after getting a base hit. Perhaps it has something to do with my precept that most chessplayers who reach the professional level are shrewd & intelligent enough to realize that their faith or religious beliefs MOST LIKELY have nothing to do with their playing strength. Or does it?
I guess I'd want more of an elaboration as to why you started this thread; can you think of any instances where chess pros share a LACK of faith? Are we to infer that you're concerned about chess pros all being agnostic? I'm not being very serious, but it is interesting I suppose.
As the PC police appear to have shown up I would just by saying I really just was hoping someone could give an example of a professional chess player who had given some kind if recognition to a higher power for the gifts they had. Nothing sinister. No conspiracy. Just asking. Sorry. I'll go back to my place.
PC police? You are too stupid to join the group I recommended. Please do not. I would not want to have to listen to an uneducated fool on a regular basis.
If professional athletes from so many sports such as track, baseball, golf, football, soccer, often share their faith when talking to the media.
That's a pretty big if. I've seen a lot of sports and this doesn't happen often. Usually only 1 person, and usually only after that person has won a game. You say "often" but I'd guess <10%
Also, veteran (not necessarily strong) chess players, by their nature, are logical and critical of ideas. Faith, by definition, is the opposite.
Think about how you would set up the BOARD. Btw this photo is on the cover of their book about strategy.

lol. What is the name of the book?
If professional athletes from so many sports such as track, baseball, golf, football, soccer, often share their faith when talking to the media why has no professional chess player? I haven't been able to think of a single instance.
