Setting Chesstempo for Ideal Study

What's the best way to use chesstempo? I mean, specifically, how do you instantiate the spaced repetition feature or flagging of missed problems? Where is that option? Also, should you turn the timer off, and if so, how do you turn it off? I use it but don't know how to adjust the settings.

On Tactics Trainer on this site, I turn on the rating and timer, and just set threshholds. Say, 800-900. Do those until I am fast. Then switch to 900-1000. Do those for a long time til they are easy. etc.

A coach can only guide you. He can't do all the work for you. You need to practice and study on your own.

Definitely something I am strongly considering, but I still have the question about chesstempo settings.

Spaced repetitions are an option in custom problem sets.  You need to be a premium member.

Timed problems are blitz mode, untimed is standard mode.

There is no single ideal study; it depends on what you want to accomplish.  Standard mode is good for long think times when you are trying to learn something.  It's you theory.  Blitz mode is showing how well you've learned that something.  It' your practice.

You should try reading the FAQ.  All of this is answered there.

Thanks. Yes, I am a gold member. I think I like the sound of spaced reptition (if the algorithm is good) as it works well for learning foreign languages...or most anything that you can put on something like a flashcard.

I want to put it into spaced repeptition untimed mode for a while I think. I also want to know what the default mode is. Hopefully these are in the FAQ.
