Who can name the coordinates of any square in a second?

I think it would be even harder without the pieces on the board.  But it's a good tool to learn where the coordinates are.

yes it will be harder, or maybe even add some random positions into the background? :D

I think many people know the files by the pieces that start on that file.. I for one used to identify the e-file as the file where the king starts the game - for me it might have been a little harder if you removed the pieces.

But by now I've practiced it a few times and I think it won't matter anymore whether the pieces are there or not.

The problem is moving the mouse fast enough! I got to level 5 before accidentaly clicking on a bookmark when trying to click on a8 Surprised

I used to remember it by the fact that e is the 5th file, but now I changed the settings on my correspondence and VC games so that it always shows the coordinates on the board.

By the way, it's against the rules to promote other chess sites.
