Maybe their busy... maybe they don't want to play you anymore or don't like you and instead of resigning they decide to time out...I don't really know.
Why do so many unrated players time out with 0 moves?

I would say most don't realize that "online" chess means turn based. Once they realize it is takes days to move they simply abandon. I would say 80% of unrated players never finish an online game, I have my settings to allow only 2 unrated games at anytime to help new players.

OK, that makes sense.
Or maybe they don't like me. But ... until we make a move ... what's not to like? :)
I'm about a 1200 right now, so many of my "new seeks" are answered by unrated players. But about 1/2 the time, they time out without ever making a move. Why do so many do this?
