I don't get it. Which piece shoots lasers? Can it do so while pinned? What if my king was checkmated last game?
Those guys that believe the rules makes no sense should realize that it is like saying:
"I can let my king in this attacked square, because to capture it you would expose your king to an attacked square and you can't do that because it is not allowed to let the king in an attacked square"
Do they really think this makes more sense than the actual rules???

It's the Bishops that shoot lasers. Personally I equip all my Knights with Rays!
Following is an example a pinned piece causing checkmate!
Many people have had trouble with this, and on top of that have had trouble with the explanations. The "who is captured first" explanation, the can't block check by pinning explanation, the laser beams explanation, none of them have worked. So, here is a clear and helpful way for everyone to remember that pinned pieces can still check the opponent's king:
