Can't hear my opponent's move sounds in live chess

Sometimes I can't hear my opponent's move sounds in live chess. That can be a real problem in blitz, when I don't realize for a few seconds that my opponent has already moved.

NinjaBob

I have had this problem as well.

I always automatically just turn up the volume when I play now. My board sounds come crashing through the speakers, but at least most of the time, I can hear my opponent's move.

Me too.

Is there a resolution to this issue, besides posting "Me too."?

Chess.com sold me an alarm clock for $350.00 to solve that problem. My dog stares at the screen as I go to the can or get coffee. When my opponent moves, my dog gets up, knocking over the alarm, which sets off a chain reaction to load the candles, which starts the fire. Its a Roub Goldberg kind of thing. If I don't come back to the game in 7 secs, my house burns down. Its only a problem in the winter.

Solid system!

I have this problem now as well, for the first time this week. Happens on two different computers. On both computers the sound is working just fine everywhere else. Very frustrating.

The sound problem really bothers me. I have stopped playing chess here because of that.
