I have same problem as above and am usin internet 9 so why cant i open live chess please
Cant launch Live Chess since server shutdown/restart

What browser version are you using? (EDIT: sorry, I see you are using version 8).
If you have IE8 or IE9, please turn off compatibility mode.

It is also possible that you could have, "Display all websites in Compatability Mode" checked. Simply clicking the compatability button while having that option checked, will not get you out of compatability mode.

JOn - I'll check for the compatibility item but tell me- where do I find the check box? Are you saying its a checkbox in IE options or within chess.com options? Thanks for trcking this down.

It is an option in internet explorer.
In method three on this link below, you can see how to view the compatability settings window: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html (Don't worry that it says IE 7, it works in IE8 and 9 as well)
You can see that in the settings window there is a box for, "Display all websites in Compatability View". (http://www.sevenforums.com/attachments/tutorials/1933d1230663037-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off-remove.jpg)
Also, you may have to show your file menu. To do this, right click on your tab bar (background) and click "Menu". This should display your file menu. Here is an image of where you should right click (http://i.imgur.com/uOGUE.png)

Does your FF5 have add-ons ?
I've just updated to FF5 to check and i'm not seeing any update browser problems.

I'm using Mozilla Firefox n' cannot log in too .. the cube juz keeps turning round n' round .........

Yeah,Tnx a Lot ! .. I managed to log in to the Full Board/Simple Version ( tho it still takes a bit longer than before ) but not the Premium one .

When you go into Compatibility View you see this http://grab.by/azTq
If you are using IE browser can you look to see if the bottom box where it says 'Display all websites in compatibility mode' is checked or not.
If it is, please UN-check it, refresh the browser then try live chess again. If you're seeing compatibility mode greyed out, it means you do have it turned on and thats whats causing the log in to live chess problem. We are still investigating incase of possible other causes.
I have the same problem ...update broswer. I've done that and made sure I had the compatibility settings off and everything not checked..still gives me the save error message on my laptop and also on my pc ???
