After you make your move, you may know what your opponent's next move would be. Or you just have a good prediction. In that case bring out the Conditional Moves feature. There you make the move you think (or know) your opponent is gonna make and then you make the move you are gonna make in response to it. And if you think you know the next move your opponent is gonna make, then repeat the same :)

So you dont have to be online to make your next move. Saves you time.  (Plus it makes you look cooler too :D )

Yes I do think it gives you a phycological boost.  Nothing is more disheartening then when you THINK you've made a clever move and the Conditional Move thing pops up.  Then you panic...Oh no! I'm falling right into his trap!  So you make you're next move and DAMN! Not again!  If you can get 2 or more in a row on someone it's beautiful!

ok thanks. Most of the time I don't know what my opponent's next move is, because I am horrible at chess. Sometimes I do, but that's rare (unless I see what they move and they are my family member). Sometimes I think they would move here or there, but I'm wrong a lot of times. Thanks again.

just to confirm: my opponent doesn't know i've predicted his move (and my response) before he moves, right?

No, he is not shown your conditional moves.

If he makes a move that you have predicted, he is told that you have prepared a conditional move for this situation - and your move is made automatically.

If he makes a move that you have not predicted, he is not told that there were any conditional moves.

Free users can conditionally preset ONE LINE of moves (that may amount to many moves).

Premium users can conditionally preset ANY NUMBER OF ALTERNATIVE LINES of moves.

Just to help speed the game up, I will sometimes program in conditional moves for every possible response.  That way, no matter what they do, at least one conditional move will get triggered.  As Artfizz said, free members can only program in one line, and that was one of the things that convinced me to upgrade my membership.  I love conditional moves and use them all the time.  Especially in the openings when the moves are pretty standard.

I had one game in which my opponent actually triggered all 16 conditional moves in my opening string.  That's the longest I've seen yet.  I program in all 16 moves every game, but only once has someone gone the distance.  I think after move 4 or 5 they feel the need to do something "less than best" just to intentionally break my string (the psychological aspects at work).
