Could it have been my computer? A site glitch?

You were disconnected.

Somebody commented something about clearing cookies.  I am so computer illiterate now days.  Twenty-five years back I was competent with my home computer.  Now I just surf the internet and what not with little technical knowledge.  Thanks for the heads up though.  Could the disconnect been because of not clearing cookies? Per example I would off the top of my head think I would not have enough storage space for Chess.com's storing needs? I occasion Disk-cleanup and occasionally Disk-compress.  Thanks though.  Have a great day! I will friend you, and anyhow we can someday maybe play a game of chess or so.  Have a great day!

Instead of Disk-compress I should have keyboarded in that I Disk-Defragment.

If your computer is less than 10 years old, you shouldn't need to create space, or clear cookies very often for a low bandwidth site like chess.com.

The main thing in connection is how you connect. Do you have broadband? Are you using a wifi network? Perhaps that network is shared with other people?  Again, playing games doesn't use a lot of bandwidth, so if you have a decent reliable connection, you shouldn't often have problems.
