Google Chrome + Chess.com Incompatibilities

Recently, a lot of users who operate on Google Chorome have experienced issues with the Chess TV live stream. However, before the live stream started acting funny and even now whenever I try to watch a Chess.com video it never fails to error out within the first 5 seconds - first 5 minutes of the video. The error always is "Error loading media: File could not be played." It's quite annoying and frustrating not being able to use all of the features of the membership that I pay for. If anyone has this same issue please say something or if you have fixed this issue please also say something.

inb4 Those who think anyone else with a computer has no common sense: I've refreshed the page, deleted temp files, cache, history, cookies etc. I've also thrown my computer out of a window a couple, that too didn't seem to help :p Anyone with advice, a solution, or any remarks from the support team please let me know!

Thank you!

Hi :) We're currently investigating the issue in regards to the ChessTV stream. Are you having issues with all videos, or just a select few? When did the video issue start?  Have you done any recent updates to Chrome?  Have you tried using a different browser so we can make sure its just happening on chrome?

Thanks for the info!

Hey, jac1yn, the issue is with all videos. The issue started in early May for me. Chrome hasn't updated on my computer it is the most up to date version. I just downloaded Mozilla Firefox and the chess.com stream and videos are all fine for me.

Thanks for taking the time to look into this! Your time is greatly appreciated by the community :)

I'm still unable to finish most videos without the error interrupting. It's getting very frustrating to have these serious complications for a paid service.

Sorry for the delay! What version of Chrome are you currently using? Do you have any extensions or plugins on Chrome at all?

Erick_Hoxter

No worries!

Version 27.0.1453.110 m

No extensions. I can't find all of my plugins but I know I have Adobe Flash and Microsoft Silverlight. I looked under permissions for my plugins and chess.com and https://[*.]secure.chess.com:443 are allowed and there are no other websites in my permissions. I have the option to "allow" them "ask" them or "block" them.

I haven't had a problem recently when loading videos and now am watching the coverage on the Tal, live. Thanks for all that you guys do. It doesn't go unnoticed and I really appreciate it!
