There is another way of inserting images without uploading an image to the site. Find an image you like with a google image search (or similar), then ask to see the image full size. Copy the address from the browser bar and paste in the Image URL field of the Chess.com "image insertion tool".
Images you've made or can only be found on your machine should be first uploaded to a hosting site.
Not ideal but a workable alternative for the moment.

The same applies if you know the URL of one of your previously uploaded images e.g.
